By creating an account or using the Services you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account and profile details: full name, email address, password, mobile number, city, current status (for example B.Pharm, M.Pharm, Fresher, Working professional, Faculty) and area of interest.
- Messages you send through the contact form or by email, and requests such as webinar registration, course “notify me” sign-ups and account deletion.
- Your consent choices (what you agreed to, and when).
Information from Google, if you choose “Continue with Google”
- Your name and verified email address. We never receive your Google password.
Information collected automatically
- Activity in the Services: which free resources you download, webinars you register for and courses you ask about.
- The marketing source of your visit (for example the campaign tag in a link), when you sign up.
- Basic technical logs kept by our hosting providers (IP address, device and browser type, time of request) for security and reliability.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone data, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics software in the mobile app. The city you enter is typed by you; we do not read your device location.
2. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account, and to let you download study material and use the app features.
- To send you the resources you requested, account and service messages, and — with your consent — updates, webinar reminders and offers by email, WhatsApp or SMS.
- To understand which topics students need, so we can plan webinars, content and future courses (using summaries such as counts by interest or city).
- To answer your messages, investigate misuse, keep the Services secure and meet our legal obligations.
We process your information on the basis of your consent (given when you sign up, which you can withdraw at any time), to provide the Services you ask for, and where needed to meet legal obligations or protect the security of the Services.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under confidentiality and security commitments:
- Supabase — database, user authentication and private file storage.
- Vercel — hosting of the website and its programming interface.
- Resend — sending our emails.
- Google — only if you sign in with Google (and when the app opens YouTube videos, which are served by YouTube under its own policy).
- WhatsApp (Meta) — only if you choose to join our community group; joining is voluntary and is governed by WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy. Other members of a group can see your name or number.
Some of these providers store or process data outside India. We may also disclose information where required by law, court order or a lawful request from a public authority, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the Services.
4. How long we keep your information
We keep your account information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your login, profile and activity records, and remove them from our backups within 90 days. We may keep limited records longer where the law requires, or in anonymous form that does not identify you.
5. Your rights and choices
- Access and correction: ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or to correct it.
- Deletion: delete your account yourself in the app (More → My profile → Delete my account), on the website at pharmaaguru.com/delete-account, or by emailing us.
- Withdraw consent / stop marketing: reply “stop” to any message, or email us. Service messages about your account may still be sent.
- Nominate someone to exercise your rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity, as provided by Indian law.
- Complaints: contact our Grievance Officer (section 10). If you are not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India once it is operational.
6. Security
We use HTTPS to protect data in transit, keep files in private storage, hash passwords through our authentication provider, and limit access to personal data to authorised administrators and our service providers. No online service is completely secure, so please choose a strong, unique password and keep it private. If a breach affecting your data occurs, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
7. Children
Pharmaaguru is meant for students and professionals aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Links to other services
The Services link to services we do not control, such as YouTube, Zoom, Google Meet and WhatsApp. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new “last updated” date and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email.
10. Contact and Grievance Officer
